Korean storefronts arrive with a thinner archive

Counted from each storefront’s own blog sitemap, a US-origin beauty brand selling into the United States has published a median of 16.5 articles against 7 for a Korean-origin brand selling into the same market, with 8 of 19 Korean-origin storefronts holding five articles or fewer and Milk Makeup holding 273.

Product pages answer what a thing costs and nothing else, so a brand with no archive can only be found by people already searching its name, and every question a shopper asks before they know the brand exists gets answered on somebody else’s page.

Structure

Held since August 5, 2026How the market is physically or commercially arranged. The earliest date we are willing to say this held. It may well have been true before that; we do not backdate a record past the evidence we have read. Supported, version 3.

A repeat run finds the US-origin median article count under twice the Korean-origin median.

orbt: Market Register commerce collector, run commerce-20260805140548

Every URL in the storefront’s blog sitemap child that names a blog and an article, so it counts published articles and not drafts, tags or index pages. What it cannot see is writing that lives somewhere other than the storefront, which is the honest limit here: a Korean brand publishing prolifically on its home domain or on a retailer’s magazine reads as thin in this measure and is not thin. The claim is about what sits on the storefront being sold from. Retailers are excluded from both origin groups: OLIVE YOUNG Global, Peach & Lily, Soko Glam, Stylevana. Their catalogues are other companies’ product copy, so counting them by the storefront’s own origin would put Korean listings inside the US-origin group. Run commerce-20260805140548.

History

  1. v3corrected

Correction. The retirement recorded above was an operator error, not a finding. The derivation was run against collector run commerce-20260805053004 while that crawl was still in flight and had reached 4 of 66 storefronts, so every claim whose storefronts it had not yet read failed its sample gate and was retired. 44 claims were retired in one command for that reason. The claim was re-derived the same day from collector run commerce-20260805051110, a complete 66 of 66 crawl, and holds. Nothing about the market changed between the two records. The retirement stays in this log because the log is not edited; this entry is what it means. The instrument now refuses to derive from a run missing more than a tenth of the seeded storefronts, and a claim returning from retired now files its own status revision, which is why this correction had to be written by hand rather than appearing on its own.

  2. v2retired

Retired against collector run commerce-20260805053004: article counts read for KR 2, US 0; need 8 each. The claim held on the sample available when it was written and does not hold on this one.
